Ceramic Coated Steel

Ceramic Coated Blades are ideal for applications where you need your blade to wear longer than standard steel blades.  We have seen our Ceramic Coated Blades wear up to 8X to 9X longer than standard steel blades.  Ceramic Coated Blades are significantly less expensive than Solid Carbide or Solid Ceramic.  They are designed to save you money by decreasing your downtime and increasing your production.

iiBlades only uses Fully Hardened High Carbon Steel or 440 Series Stainless Steel substrates to ensure customers receive consistent wearing blades every time.  All of our edges are Hollow Ground to give you razor sharp, keen cutting edges.   Our coatings are applied using a PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) process.  We have a very specific Micron Thickness and Temperature Specification for our coatings.  This process gives our Coated Blades the benefits of longer wear and a lower coefficient of friction while keeping the integrity of the substrate steel.

Benefits:

  • Longer wearing than standard steel blades
  • Lower Coefficient of Friction
  • Less expensive than Solid Carbide or Solid Ceramic
  • Increased production runs
  • Less downtime
